Charis Reese

Charis Jones also known as Charis Reese, is a native Washingtonian, and an acclaimed independent RnB Artist. She is known for her world-renowned GoGo Remixes that fuse RnB and Jazz elements into one.

She graduated from Bishop McNamara High School and attended Xavier University in Louisiana for College; but due to Hurricane Katrina; transferred to Drexel University in Philadelphia. There, she acquired a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Chemistry, along with a Certificate in Health Science, English, and Philosophy; and later graduated with a Master of Public Health. In 2023, she graduated with Presidential Honors from the Los Angeles College of Music with a Degree in Vocal Performance.

Her musical journey began as a little girl, singing in the choir, recording with prominent gospel artists, and travelling internationally. After working in the government as a special contractor and becoming a Director of Development, she decided to release her first album, entitled “Introducing Miss Jones” in 2015. In 2016, she created and hosted the I.A.G. (Independent Artist Goals) Radio Show to support other independent artists by providing an entertainment platform to share and showcase their artistry. Additionally, Charis Reese created the Like A Girl S.T.E.A.M. conference to provide mentor-led workshops, networking and financial aid support to middle and high school aged young women, as a spin-off from her hit single, Like A Girl GoGo Remix. As a former Adjunct Professor and High School Teacher for over 7 years, she dedicated her time to informing students on how to balance their dreams while pursuing their career goals. She is an agent of change and talent promotion and works within the vein of everyone has their own lane, and therefore, no one is in competition with anyone.

In 2021, she resigned as an Educator, and moved across the country on a full scholarship to pursue a degree in vocal performance at the LA College of Music. Thus far, she has acquired music syncs for movies, acted in several stage plays and starred in her first movie as the lead character. Her latest single, I Like Dat GoGo is growing in notoriety, as this is her first single that she co-produced and arranged vocals and instrumentation. This song has been featured on Da Brat’s, Grammy Award Winning Rapper’s “For Y’all Volume 1” Mixtape, spotlighted via the Essence of Soul Radio Show in London, and on WHUR 96.3FM as their Hometown Heat Artist.

Her success includes selling out music venues across the East Coast and Southern Corridors, Songs in rotation on Sirius XM Heart and Soul, Sirius XM Crank Radio on H.U.R. Voices, and WPGC 95.5FM, to name a few. Her television performances include Good Morning Washington on ABC7, Great Day Washington on WUSA9, and Spectrum News Channel 1 in Southern California.

Charis is often described as a musical jukebox, with sounds reminiscent of Tweet, Fantasia, and Chaka Khan. Her musical influences are Jazz, RnB, Gospel and Neo- Soul. Her voice and sense of humor are unforgettable, and her stage presence will leave you with a newfound love for all things her. In 2023, she was appointed as the lead vocalist for the first-ever all DMV musician based LA GoGo Band, and had a viral

moment performing and sharing the stage with legendary actress Angela Bassett. In May, she released 3 new singles from her upcoming sophomore album, Unstoppable. These songs bring back real live music, arrangements, and feel-good music. The singles, “Unstoppable,” “Allergic,” and “Good Day” have already enticed ears of prominent musicians and music enthusiasts. There is so much to love and appreciate from this multi-talented singing soul.
